“I would do this trip over and over and over again”
This trip has been the most amazing thing I could have ever done. I learned so much history and more importantly about life. To see all those children who are terminally ill and yet still so happy and alive is remarkable. I loved giving them their wishes and spending time with them even though I can’t speak their language.
When I first decided to go on this trip I thought it would be very upsetting to visit terminally-ill children but instead it was the opposite. IT was a splendid feeling all the time, to see their smiles and their excitement made me feel overwhelmed with happiness.
At first when Garry told me that this trip was a lot of work I didn’t quite believe him. I knew it would take a little work but mostly just fun. It turned out to be a lot of work but not in the way you would think. Physically it’s not a lot of work but emotionally I would say that it was much work. ALL of it was incredible fun and it was definitely worth every effort.
If I could I would do this trip over and over and over again. After this trip I plan to do so much volunteering for the community and take advantage of the time I have. The children I met with made me realize that I could do such great things with the time I have that they don’t! I would not change a moment of this trip, it was perfect in every way.
