During our trip we visited many sick children. Most of the children were a bit shy when they met us, but they
always smiled when they received their presents, or in some cases, cried.
You could tell how some of the families had had hard lives especially after having heard all their stories. Some had
money problems and others family. It must have been very difficult to live that way yet they were all happy and
energetic like any other kids their age and these people truly do fight for their lives every day.
Some things that shocked me were how so many of the things we consider normal just aren’t like that for the kids,
like having a bathroom in their house. I can’t imagine not having one.
In some ways it was almost the same as in Canada but in others it was totally different. Also during the trip we got
to visit many places around Poland. We didn’t get to go to Hel which made me a bit sad, but the other things we
did helped make up for it.
While we were in the hotels and restaurants we had many chances to try some Polish food which all of us did, even
if it was just a little bit.
All in all the trip was amazing. We got to do many things and we became friends. After spending so much time in
Poland it feels sad to be coming home. If I ever get a chance I would very much like to return to Poland again.
