“It has definitely changed the way I look at my life and the lives around me”
Poland is much more different from what I imagined. I never thought I would meet so many friendly people there.
Warsaw is such a beautiful city, its amazing how people there look so serious outside, but then in their homes, they welcome you with open arms, tea and something sweet.
I think the best part of the trip honestly is when we arrived at the children’s hospital in Rusinowice. I was shocked and amazed at how the kids ran up to me with so much laughter. “This is definitely a moment I would hold on to for the rest of my life”.
Our visit to the concentration camp in Auschwitz is indescribable. I wish everyone has a chance in their lifetime to see what we have seen. Just to imagine that all of the shoes, clothes and combs we seen have once belong to someone. We also saw a room full of shaved off hair. It hurts just thinking about all of the people that have been killed. Not only did they kill them, they made them suffer first.
Ok besides all of that, I’ve learned a lot from this trip, and it has definitely changed the way I look at my life and the lives around me. This has definitely been a journey for a lifetime, and it has not ended yet.
