"We are very proud of Terri for getting involved with CFKI …"
September 15, 2008.
Our daughter Terri travelled to Poland with Coalition for Kids International on August 20-30/2008. It was indeed “a journey of a lifetime”
We were kind of apprehensive when Terri first thought she might like to “check out” CFKI. I was frightened of the thought of my fifteen year old daughter travelling all the way to Poland on an airplane with people I did not know.
However after the first meeting we were reassured and it was something Terri wanted very badly to get involved in. After a few more meetings and information sessions we felt assured the Coalition is all about the kids.
They are amazing people. They involve the whole family. They are in constant communication with you and the kids so you know exactly what is happening. I was nervous when Terri left, as it was her first time on an airplane. I was very impressed, the Coalition kept us very well informed via e-mail and telephone. Everyday they sent e-mails with information as to what they did that day, how they were doing, along with photos of that day. I missed her but with the constant communication it did not seem so bad. We were well equipped with phone numbers etc. I even got to speak to Terri one night.
Terri talked a lot about her “most amazing trip ever” with the “most amazing chaperones ever” from CFKI. They all became very close and it will be friendships for the rest of her life.
This is a great cause and we are very proud of Terri for getting involved with CFKI.
