My saying that it is hard to measure how much impact the trip had on Connor is because there is no way of measuring the effect it has on people until they are older, more experienced and more mature, but I say this because I believe in Connor and I believe in the project. But as I've found out over the years of working with people who have achieved a great deal of success, that there are defining moments in their lives that determined what types of people they have become.
And that this trip is a defining moment in Connor's life, we are fortunate in the fact that he knows what he wants in life and we hope that this trip will make him realize that he is a citizen of the world, not of Halifax, not of Nova Scotia, not of Canada, but of this world. The one we live in. He has a social responsibility to the world. He will be successful in business, and he will use that influence to improve the lives of others. I believe that that is when we will truly see the value of this experience. This trip will help him develop a social conscience, as he already has a family conscience.
We do want our other children to follow suit, as we believe in the social purpose of one's life and want to instill the social responsibility they have to society, and this project.
